Standard Garden Hose connections are always 3/4" while the adapter side of a garden hose fitting will vary upon need for the connection point. Upon installation, this particular item has a spring that supplies pressure to the nut and ensures a firm seal when the garden hose is screwed in. By lightly compressing the nut you will gain access to the 3/4" threads to install your garden hose.
